While not the most practical media format, for those looking for that authentic 90s Streets of Rage soundtrack experience, that can now achieve it. The cassette tapes for both Streets of Rage 2 Perfect Soundtrack and Streets of Rage Perfect Soundtrack will set fans back €10,50 (~$12) each. Truly trying to capture the flavor of the mid-90s, Wayô announced that their re-release is expanding platforms to an even harder format to play. A soundtrack collection of Yuzo Koshiro's work on both seminal SEGA beat-em-ups releasing for each game. Wayô is taking it a set further for authenticity by not just putting these soundtracks on CD, but also cassette. One area that is getting some attention is just how great those original soundtracks were, and Wayo Records is thinking the same thing.
With the recently released Streets of Rage 4 receiving positive fan reaction, some are getting a bit of a nostalgia wave for the originals.
